Our seven hospitals offer community outreach programs and sponsorships to 501(c)3 organizations to promote wellness and health education. Our doctors and staff are committed to going beyond the expected to help our communities be healthy and stay well.

The Nuvance Health® hospitals are dedicated to serving the community as a wellness resource. This includes providing health education and wellness opportunities.
Our hospitals offer community outreach programs to promote wellness and preventive medicine. Among our offerings:

Danbury Hospital
Danbury Hospital offers a speaker’s bureau for non-profit organizations and civic clubs. In addition, Danbury Hospital hosts Red Cross blood drives several times a year. Physicians and clinical staff participate in health fairs and community events. New Milford Hospital
The hospital offers skin cancer screening, health fairs, speaking engagements and nutrition programs. We also host a “Plow to Plate” healthy eating program. Northern Dutchess Hospital
In addition to food drives for the community, Northern Dutchess Hospital sponsors annual coat drives and holiday giving drives. Recently, Northern Dutchess Giving Tree supported 14 families. The hospital also offers fall prevention programs, a lunch-and-learn wellness series, and medication give back events in partnership with local government agencies. Northern Dutchess Hospital also takes part in community sponsorship opportunities. Norwalk Hospital
Norwalk Hospital offers a speaker’s bureau for nonprofit organizations and civic clubs. In addition, Norwalk Hospital hosts Red Cross blood drives several times a year. Physicians and clinical staff participate in health fairs and community events, having recently changed the format to Zoom meetings. Putnam Hospital
Putnam Hospital offers skin cancer screenings, a mammography awareness event, fall-prevention programs, a 16-week diabetes prevention program, and a popular lunch-and-learn series presented by the medical staff. Sharon Hospital
Sharon Hospital offers a lunch-and-learn wellness series with presentations from the medical staff. The hospital also participates in medication give-back programs in partnership with local government agencies. In addition, Sharon Hospital participates in community sponsorship opportunities. Vassar Brothers Medical Center
Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) provides several programs focused on the prevention of trauma such as fall-prevention programs, distracted driving and the importance of wearing seatbelts. The Medical Center actively supports many local charities and nonprofits. VBMC donated automated external defibrillators (AED) to organizations during heart month. We also participate in community sponsorship opportunities.
