Laboratory medicine (lab testing) is one of the many ways Nuvance Health® provides a seamless care experience. You have convenient access to a full range of lab testing services. Our high standards for specimen handling and testing accuracy help you receive excellent care.
Why Do I Need Lab Testing?

Lab testing includes blood draws, urinalysis and other tests that provide important information about your health. Labs enable doctors to detect, diagnose and treat certain medical conditions.

Your doctor may recommend lab testing for many reasons, including:

  • Screening: As part of routine exams, lab studies help us detect the early signs of serious health issues, like diabetes or heart disease.
  • Evaluation: Issues such as unusual tiredness, headaches or ongoing pain can have many causes. Lab studies confirm or rule out specific conditions.
  • Urgent care: If you are feeling sick, lab testing may help determine the cause. It can help diagnose issues such as the flu, infections, strep throat and COVID-19.

Pathologist and Care Coordination

The team includes board-certified pathologists specializing in cancer diagnosis, clinical pathology, anatomic pathology, and more. Pathologists oversee lab testing efforts and assist with interpreting the results.

Pathologists also work with other members of your care team, as needed, so you receive appropriate therapies. They frequently work alongside doctors who treat cancer, rare infections and other complex illnesses.
