What are Varicose Veins and Spider Veins?

Varicose veins often occur on the legs. They are bluish-purple and may form bulges under the skin. Varicose veins are typically not a sign of a serious health issue. But they can cause symptoms, such as pain, swelling and tightness, that can get in the way of daily activities.

Spider veins are smaller than varicose veins. They are thread-like formations that occur on the legs and face. Spider veins may be blue, purple or red but do not cause pain or other symptoms. This type of vein condition can be genetic. It may also be due to obesity and certain injuries.

Treatments We Offer

Ambulatory microphlebectomy:
Using tiny incisions and instruments, we remove bulging varicose veins in hard-to-reach areas, such as behind the knee.

Radiofrequency Ablation:
VNUS Closure is a procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to create heat that destroys varicose vein tissue.

Sclerotherapy:
We inject chemicals or other substances into veins to seal them off so that they shrink and disappear.
