Visitor hours and guidelines

To ensure a healthy and safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors, Nuvance Health has a restricted visitation policy. These guidelines will help you prepare for your next visit to VBMC.

Inpatient Care: 8 am to 8 pm daily

Buildings and services

Building A - 9 Livingston Street

Patient Pavilion - This extraordinary 752,000-square-foot addition to our campus allows us to dramatically enhance how healthcare is experienced here. With its distinctive shape that follows the aesthetic of the Hudson River, the Patient Pavilion adds an eight-level addition with private rooms to our medical center. This addition features amenities that provide the caliber of healthcare and the environment expected by sophisticated, modern-day patients and their families.

Surgical Services

Emergency Department/Level II Trauma Center - When you or a loved one arrives to the Trauma Center, you'll be assessed and treated in a designated room. These are fully equipped with the diagnostic technology and tools needed to rapidly assess your concerns. If necessary, we can quickly move severely injured patients to one of our operating suites, where a multidisciplinary surgical team can intervene.

This service requires multiple specialties to work together. Trauma surgeons collaborate with specialists in emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, neuro-interventional surgery, radiology, anesthesia, critical care, neurosurgery, neurology, cardiology, general surgery and more.

Dyson Center for Cancer Care - Everything you need for cancer care in the Hudson Valley is available here. We offer patients and families access to treatment and supportive services in one comfortable, convenient outpatient location. You’ll have access to leading-edge cancer treatment. Our broad range of therapies include chemotherapy, clinical trials, advanced radiation therapy and surgery, which can be used alone or in combination with other treatments .

The center includes:


  • Radiation therapy suite with image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)


  • Infusion center


  • Space to meet with medical and surgical oncologists


  • Access to support services


Building E - 21 Reade Place

Center for Ambulatory Services

Dyson Breast Center - The Dyson Breast Center provides comprehensive breast health services in a calm, welcoming environment. You’ll find advanced technology needed for accurate screening and diagnosis of breast disease, plus an experienced team of surgeons, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, radiologists and nurses. We offer complete supportive care services during and after treatment, including counseling and nutrition. The Dyson Breast Center imaging suite features an advanced 3D mammography/tomosynthesis unit, which produces high-quality images that decrease the need for additional screenings and increase accuracy in cancer detection. We use 3D mammography to screen women with dense breast tissue. We also offer bone-density screening and prone-stereotactic biopsy. All patients regardless of their clinical history, are screened using 3D mammography.

You have two dining choices at VBMC:

Panichi Family Café

You have access to indoor and outdoor dining at the 300-seat Panichi Family Café on the first floor of the Patient Pavilion (Building A).
Our chefs produce high-quality nutritious meals. They partner with a team of registered dietitians to make sure meals satisfy a variety of needs and taste great for patients, staff and visitors.
Hours:

Monday through Friday: 6:30 am – 8 pm

Weekends and holidays: 6:30 am – 6:30 pm

Avanti Market

Located next to the café, the market offers sandwiches, beverages and snacks 24/7.

Parking and campus information

Valet Services

Access valet parking at the lobbies of VBMC Buildings A and B and the Dyson Center for Cancer Care (Building D). Our valets also help you manage wheelchairs and other equipment and will perform minor services such as jump-starting dead batteries. Rely on them to provide directions to hospital destinations plus an umbrella service during inclement weather.

Hours:

Patient Pavilion (Building A): 5 am – 8 pm

Legacy hospital (Building B): 6 am – 8 pm

Garage and Street Parking

You can park in the 40 Livingston Street garage (levels 1 and 2 are reserved for visitors). Find Emergency Department (Building A, 30 Livingston Street) parking in the outside lot. Both the Patient Pavilion and the Emergency Department (Building A) have drop-off circles at the entrance.
