Nuvance Health® cardiac electrophysiologists use advanced technology to correct heart rhythm problems like arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Electrophysiology at Nuvance Health: Why choose us?

Turn to Nuvance Health for advanced care for all types of heart rhythm conditions, including arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation (AFib). We offer:

Advanced technology
A specially trained team performs advanced procedures at our full-service electrophysiology laboratories, including:

  • Real-time magnetic imaging to create a 3-D map of the heart chamber
  • Robotic cardiac ablation to resolve arrhythmias
  • Minimally invasive procedures to implant devices that maintain your heart’s rhythm

Access to new therapies
Your care team provides access to advanced treatment options and promising new therapies. These include the left atrial appendage occlusion device (Watchman™), which helps reduce stroke risk for people with atrial fibrillation.

Ongoing support
We offer advanced options for monitoring and managing heart rhythm conditions. With support from the Nuvance Health team, you can have peace of mind knowing your health is under control.

Nuvance Health® cardiac electrophysiologists diagnose and treat problems affecting the heart’s electrical system—called arrhythmias. We have experience with all types of arrhythmias, including:

  • Atrial fibrillation (AFib)
  • Atrial flutter
  • Atrial tachycardia
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Premature ventricular contractions
  • Supraventricular tachycardia
  • Ventricular tachycardia

Cardiac arrhythmia diagnosis

An accurate diagnosis helps your care team recommend the right treatment. Nuvance Health uses advanced diagnostic tools, including electrophysiology (EP) studies, to record your heart’s electrical signals and pinpoint problems. We measure electrical activity by inserting thin tubes (catheters) and wire electrodes through blood vessels that enter your heart.

Cardiac electrophysiology procedures

We Perform Cardiac electrophysiologists work together with other heart specialists to provide personalized treatment. We offer advanced technologies and procedures including:

  • Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices: Sending small electrical impulses to your heart’s lower chambers to help them beat in a unified pattern
  • Cardiac ablation, including robotic cardiac ablation: Modifying your heart tissue using heat or cold to correct arrhythmias that haven’t responded to other treatments (an interventional cardiology procedure)
  • Leadless pacemakers: Inserting a device in your heart to treat slow or fast heart rhythms and maintain regular heartbeats
  • Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implants: Inserting a device in your heart to regulate and maintain regular heartbeats by delivering electrical impulses
  • Lead extraction: Removing thin, flexible metal wires (leads) from previously inserted pacemakers or ICDs to treat infection, damage or scar tissue
Left atrial appendage occlusion device (Watchman™): Implanting a device to close an area in the heart where dangerous clots can form (a treatment for people with atrial fibrillation)

Ongoing support for electrophysiology procedures

Electrophysiology is part of your comprehensive care plan. We monitor your heart’s activity, remotely and during in-person visits, and adjust your treatment as needed. Learn more about how we treat arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.
