08/25/2025
Enjoy a fun-filled family day at this interactive, health and wellness event.
Kids’ Day, a popular community celebration at Putnam Hospital, is back and will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, on the hospital campus at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue, Carmel, NY.
“Kids’ Day is a fun and festive way to take part in the health of our community,” said John Mahoney, manager of Volunteer Resources. “We look forward to bringing together organizations from all over Putnam County to celebrate children and families.”
What happens on Kids’ Day?
Join Dr. Bear for this fun-filled day that includes a host of interactive health and safety exhibits, along with kids’ crafts, child identification program and a teddy bear clinic. Hospital departments will be on hand to provide information on nutrition, emergency care, physical therapy and more. There will be demonstrations on car seat safety, proper bicycle helmet use and heart monitoring, as well as fire truck and ambulance tours.
Families can also enjoy a variety of games, inflatable bouncy attractions, hayrides, food trucks and a meet-and-greet with costumed characters. Raffles and kids’ baskets created by hospital departments will also be awarded.
Who started Kids’ Day?
This will be the 16th Kids’ Day hosted by the Putnam Hospital Auxiliary. The Auxiliary was founded 62 years ago to help build the hospital and continues to be a great asset – raising more than $8 million for the benefit of patients and families who rely on Putnam Hospital for vital, compassionate care.

“We hope you have a memorable experience and enjoy the fun and educational activities we have put together with help from our community partners,” said Putnam Hospital President Dr. Mark Hirko. “We appreciate the opportunity to promote health and wellness to our youngest residents and their families in an interactive and communal environment.”
