Admissions criteria

Our location offers a far greater level of therapy than a short-term rehab facility, such as a nursing home. We care for patients who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Require at least two skilled therapies: physical, occupational and/or speech
  • Receive three hours of therapy daily for five to six days per week
  • Need inpatient rehabilitation medicine managed by a doctor
  • Require around-the-clock supervision from nurses trained in rehabilitation medicine
  • Have a discharge plan

We are not able to care for patients who:

  • Are ventilator dependent
  • Require telemetry

Patients with traumatic spinal cord injury will be evaluated based on their rehabilitation potential. Spinal cord dysfunction due to trauma, cancer, inflammatory conditions or non-traumatic etiologies will be considered by evaluating the level of injury, completeness of spinal cord dysfunction and co-morbid conditions.

Insurance

Rehabilitation is typically covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
