Michelle Robertson, RN, BSN, MBA, has joined Nuvance Health as its Chief Operating Officer. She brings decades of healthcare leadership experience from two major hospital systems within Ascension Health.

Robertson will work closely with Nuvance Health’s outgoing COO, Kerry Eaton, who will retire at the end of 2022.

“I am honored and excited to join Nuvance Health’s leadership team during this period of incredible growth and achievement.” Robertson said. “Nuvance Health has already built a well-deserved reputation for providing high-quality care in Connecticut and New York. I am excited to bring my clinical and administrative expertise to support our hospital leaders and expand our clinical services to continue providing our communities with the excellent care they have come to expect.”

In her role, Robertson is accountable for the development and operational realization of strategic initiatives for Nuvance Health and continued achievement of exceptional outcomes in quality, patient experience, employee engagement, financial health and value-based care.

“We are incredibly grateful to have such a talented, driven and patient-focused leader joining our senior leadership team” said Dr. John Murphy, President and CEO of Nuvance Health. “Between Michelle’s clinical experience as a registered nurse and healthcare leadership expertise, she understands what it takes to drive success within our hospitals and deliver high-quality, cost-effective care. I look forward to working closely with Michelle to ensure our patients have the best outcomes possible.”

Prior to joining Nuvance Health, Robertson held senior leadership positions at Ascension Health, one of the leading nonprofit health systems in the U.S. Most recently, she served as COO and Chief Nursing Officer of Ascension Saint Thomas, encompassing 10 acute care facilities including quaternary transplants, community and critical access facilities, a behavioral health hospital, imaging, urgent care, sleep and rehab. Before Ascension Saint Thomas, she served as CEO of the Seton Family of Hospitals and then as system COO for Ascension Texas, an integrated healthcare delivery system serving central Texas. Before that, she was President and CEO of the Seton Family of Hospitals North Group and held a variety of executive leadership roles at Seton Healthcare Family.
