New Milford gains family medicine practitioner

A nurse practitioner with nearly three decades of experience in hospital-based medicine, pediatrics and urgent care joined Nuvance Health Medical Practice in New Milford to offer primary care.

 

Kirsten FitzGerald of Sandy Hook, Conn., is a family nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She sees adults and children with a focus on compassionate, holistic care.

 

“It’s important to me to deliver primary care with the warmth and compassion that I would give my own loved ones,” she said.

 

Her career in healthcare includes employment as a nurse practitioner at Riverside Urgent Care in Derby and Connecticut Ear, Nose and Throat in Waterbury; an occupational health staff nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury; and as a staff nurse at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich. She was a Newtown School District nurse from 2009 to 2019, involved in the care of 4,500 students.

 

FitzGerald holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Fairfield University.

 

To stay active, she hikes, jogs with her dogs, rides horses and gardens.
