Nuvance Health Medical Practice New Milford primary care recently welcomed Dr. Sherry Reyes, a family medicine physician who will see children and adults.

Most recently, Dr. Reyes cared for patients at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, during a three-year family medicine residency program, which she completed in June.

She also gained valuable primary care experience at Nuvance Health Medical Practice in Rhinebeck as well as at Sun River Health in Kingston, NY.

“With family medicine, the appeal for me is the continuity of care throughout a patient’s lifetime, all while building a relationship and trust,” she said.

Dr. Reyes has experience with COVID-19 vaccine clinics and Long COVID, public health education as well as infection control prevention and patient experience initiatives.

She holds a doctor of medicine degree from the Atlantic University School of Medicine in the Caribbean and a bachelor’s in health sciences from Stony Brook University in Suffolk, NY.

The Nassau County, NY, native, was among the first class of resident-doctors to graduate from Nuvance Health residency programs in New York and be hired by the health system. The goal of the residencies is to bring talented, young doctors to Western Connecticut and the mid-Hudson Valley to serve the needs of these communities.
