As a new member of the Nuvance Health Medical Practice primary care team in Woodstock, NY, Susan Begnal looks forward to helping her patients achieve their health goals.

The nurse practitioner has special training in adult gerontology, which is the study of how we age, and has much experience in the healthcare field, as a provider and patient.

“Being a cancer survivor myself, I have a unique perspective from a patient’s point of view that can enhance the care I provide,” said the Kingston resident, who was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in 2012.

Begnal completed her nurse practitioner education at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh and holds a master’s degree in nursing.

While earning her master’s, she was a registered nurse, most recently with Northern Dutchess Hospital and Hudson Valley Hospice. In her six years of nursing experience, she has worked with pregnant, surgical, medically frail and elderly patients.

“I am experienced on the full continuum of healthcare from having worked on labor and delivery to hospice care and much in between,” she said.

Outside of the office, Begnal spends as much time as she can outdoors, and with her family, friends and dogs.

Woodstock’s Nuvance Health Medical Practice is at 404 Zena Road. To make an appointment, call (845) 679-5271 or TTY/accessibility (800) 421-1220.
