After more than a decade in academic medicine, Dr. Sandra Mini will step back from teaching to get back into hands-on patient care.
The board-certified internal medicine physician recently joined Nuvance Health Medical Practice’s New Canaan location to provide primary care to adults, age 18 and older.
Since 2011, Dr. Mini has been an assistant professor with the University of Vermont, working with medical students. For the past four years, she has supervised internal medicine residents at the Greater Danbury Community Health Center. She’ll stay on with the Nuvance Health and University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine Global Health Academy.
Her past experiences also include working at Glenville Medical Associates in Greenwich, Conn., as a primary care physician and at Columbia University in New York City as a clinical instructor.
She completed her internal-medicine residency at Norwalk Hospital, a part of Nuvance Health.
Dr. Mini graduated medical school in Venezuela and speaks Spanish, as well as French and Italian.
She has four children and loves to spend time outdoors, hiking and biking. She also enjoys learning about various cultures through books and travel.
